Roberto Firmino back in training as Klopp confirms return is close
Jurgen Klopp confirms a Roberto Firmino return is close.
The Brazilian has been out injured since a 1-1 draw with Chelsea at the end of August ().
After missing the last four games for the Reds, Klopp has revealed that his striker is almost ready to return.
Liverpool brushed Norwich aside in the Carabao Cup on Tuesday night and afterwards Klopp delivered the good news on Firmino.
Speaking after the game Klopp said ():
“Bobby trained on Monday for the first time for the team, so he is not too far away from playing again.”
“Now we have obviously two midfielders out, so we try to make sure that number doesn’t get bigger.”
“The start of the season, obviously so far it has been good for the whole squad, but it is only the start. There is a lot more to come.”
This will certainly come as an exciting development for the Reds.
In recent weeks we’ve seen Diogo Jota deputise as the central striker at Anfield.

However, with Firmino close to a return Klopp will once again be able to rotate and keep his striking options fresh.
Keeping the whole squad involved will be crucial at Anfield this season.
The Reds lost Xherdan Shaqiri and Georginio Wijnaldum over the summer.
Yet they failed to sign anyone to bolster their midfield or attack.
That means that the rotational options such as Takumi Minamino, who scored twice against Norwich, will have to chip in.
In Firmino, though, Klopp has a striker coming back in who has seen it all at Anfield.
Not the most prolific player at the club, Firmino has still managed to score 88 goals and register 69 assists for the club ().
His imminent return is certainly a boost and the fans will be delighted to see him back on the pitch.
