Roberto De Zerbi issues verdict on Tottenham boss Ange Postecoglou

Roberto De Zerbi has issued his verdict on Tottenham Hotspur boss Ange Postecoglou as Brighton prepare to host his side on Thursday.

Spurs have certainly put an end to their poor run of results. Tottenham have now won their last three and could now go to within three points of the Premier League summit with a win over the Seagulls.

Ange Postecoglou has definitely won a lot of admirers during his time in England. Tottenham were in a real mess when he arrived, finishing in mid-table last season. Some may have expected that it would take a long time for the Australian to turn the club’s fortunes around.

However, Spurs have been one of the stories of the season. They led the way for much of the opening months of the campaign. And they arguably play some of the most attractive football in the division.

Of course, another side well known for playing brilliant football is Brighton. De Zerbi previously attracted the attention of Tottenham. And they know that they could move to within six points of Spurs with a win on Thursday.

Speaking in comments reported by , the Italian insisted that he is a big admirer of Postecoglou and the work he has done in North London.

“I really like Postecoglou so much. When he speaks at press conferences or interviews I really like it. They play great football. I love their style. In terms of personality on the field they are one of the best teams right now,” he said.

Tottenham definitely heading in the right direction

Tottenham’s achievements are all the more remarkable because of the injury problems they have dealt with. James Maddison and Micky van de Ven have been sidelined since the defeat to Chelsea in November. And they have been joined by the likes of Ivan Perisic, Rodrigo Bentancur, and several others on the sidelines.

Other sides have been dealing with injuries, too. However, many would have probably expected Spurs to crumble once Maddison and van de Ven were sidelined, given their importance.

Tottenham’s results did suffer. However, they took the lead in every single game during the five-match run where they only collected one point.

It does appear that a serious title push may be beyond Tottenham this season. But given where they were when Postecoglou took over, supporters will surely be delighted about the direction they seem to be heading in.
