Robert Snodgrass sings the praises of Leeds United for taking Premier League ‘by storm’

Leeds United take on West Ham United in the Premier League this evening hoping to get back to winning ways following defeat to Chelsea last time out.

Leeds will face a tough challenge against the Hammers, who are flying high in eighth position.

They will also face off against a former player who is clearly looking forward to the meeting. Robert Snodgrass joined Leeds from Livingston in 2008, spending four years at the club before heading to Norwich City in 2012.

The 33-year-old former Scotland international has been speaking highly of the form Leeds have showcased since winning promotion to the Premier League, even if they are currently sitting in 14th position.

“Leeds have come up and taken the Premier League by storm, really,” “They’ve played against some of the best teams in the league, creating chances all over the place and having no fear.

“Friday will be a tough, tough game, something that the lads haven’t experienced where they go man-for-man and try and get all over the place.

“That club obviously means a hell of a lot to me. They gave me a chance when I was a young teenager, 19, and I left there as captain, so the club’s got a place in my heart definitely – but come Friday, I want the West Ham lads to get the three points and go further up that table.”

Snodgrass is unlikely to feature against Leeds. The Scot has featured for just one minute of Premier League football this season and has dropped out of the starting XI.

But it is clear he is still fearful of his former club, despite inconsistent results.

However, there is no doubt that, on their day, Leeds look capable of beating any team in the Premier League and Snodgrass is well aware of that.

Whilst he might not play, he will no doubt ensure his West Ham team-mates are well prepared for a tough fixture against his former club.
