Robert Pires claims Liverpool have ‘luck’ on their side in title chase

Former Arsenal winger, Robert Pires, has had his say on Liverpool as they look to emulate the Gunners’ invincibles team.

The Reds are currently unbeaten in the Premier League. Only Manchester United have forced them into dropping a🍃ny points with a draw at Old Trafford.

A win at West Ham in midweeꩵk edged Liverpool further towards title glory.

But Pires, who was speaking to , claimed a number of factors were helping Jur💙gen Klopp’s men to the title.

“Yes! Because they have everything for them: the team, the results, the luck, the coach … I think there are a lot of people who will agree,” Pires 🔯answered when asked if Liverpool could ♏go unbeaten.

Anꦚd despite praising how well the Reds have done, Pires🐻 said the quality of the competition wasn’t the same as it was during Arsenal’s title-winning campaign.

“Physically, the guys are there. Even if, today, technically, the Premier League has dropped a little.

“It’s a bit of the observation that people make here. When you see the numbers of Manchester United, Chelsea, Tottenham or Arsenal, it’s not as strong as it was a few years ago,” Pires added.

Pires was one of the stars of that seaso𓂃n for the Gunners. Their run came to an end the following years at the hands of Manchester United.

Liverpool have 14 games to go to remain unbeaten. They already sit on 70 points, a total that would have already secured fifth pla♛ce in last season’s table.

Pires is probably⛄ speaking a bit tongue in cheek here and it’s hard to believe he t꧒hinks Liverpool are lucky per se.

He is right in that you n🎀eed an element of luck. Man United had it the year they won the treble. Peter Schmeichel saving a penalty in the FA Cup semi and Bayern hitting the woodwork more than once in the Champions L🍌eague final.

However, the claim that the league isn’t as strong is hard to back up. Man City🎃 got a record poin🐼ts haul last season. Liverpool would have won the title any other season.

Furthermore, there’s more money and quality in the English game than ever. Sure, Ma🀅n United have dropped, but with that, we’ve seen Leicester, Spurs, and Chelsea rise.

The Arsenal invincibles team were a class act. This Liverpool team, though, might well ec𝕴lipse them.
