Rob Holding sends hilarious Instagram message to Arsenal defender Kieran Tierney
Kieran Tierney scored his first goal for Arsenal on Saturday but just as much as his goal sparked reaction, so did his ability to deal with the freezing temperatures at The Hawthorns – and Rob Holding has sent him a hilarious message on Instagram.
Tierney, 23, clocked up his 45th appearance for Arsenal and scored his first goal. Cutting inside from the left flank, Scotland international Tierney curled a right-footed effort into the far corner past Sam Johnstone to open the scoring.
Alexandre Lacazette got a brace and Bukayo Saka continued his excellent form with another goal, as The Gunners won a third match on the bounce with a 4-0 win. Tierney was excellent again, proving to be one of Arsenal’s most in-form players.
Tierney posted a couple of images on his Instagram following his first goal for the club, which saw him aggressively celebrating in the snow along with his teammates. The images also show Tierney the only player not to be wearing thermals.
It is something Celtic skipper Scott Brown – one of Tierney’s idols – has become synonymous for, wearing t-shirts in the cold. Clearly, Tierney is made of the same stuff, perhaps one of the many reasons why he is touted as a future Gunners captain.
Those that have not seen Tom Hardy perform as Batman’s nemesis Bane in 2012’s The Dark Night Rises might not understand Holding’s message to Tierney – but the centre-back commented on Tierney’s post, altering one of Bane’s famous lines.
