Rob Holding says Arsenal have a player who is ‘perfect’ for two different positions

Rob Holding has hailed Arsenal defender Ben White’s versatility and has claimed that he’s ‘perfect’ to play in two different positions.

The Englishman has been one of Arsenal‘s best players over the last two years. Mikel Arteta has helped him become a star, and versatility is one of his biggest assets.

Rob Holding praises Arsenal star Ben White

Arsenal signed Ben White from Brighton and Hove Albion for £50 million back in the summer of 2021 ().

The 26-year-old mostly played as a centre-back in his debut season at the Emirates, but he was converted to a right-back in the following campaign.

White was one of the best full-backs in the Premier League last season, and he has played pretty well this time as well, despite carrying an injury.

Holding seems to be a big fan of the Arsenal number four and claimed that White is ‘perfect’ for Arsenal both centre-half and right-back.

He said on : “I’d say Ben White, he’s such a diverse (player), he’s perfect for a right back but he’s also perfect for a centre-half because he’s not the broadest, he’s not the heaviest, he’s not the strongest, I think he weighs like 78, which is light.

“When he says to me, I’m like how are you that light because he’s tall as well but he’s super lean but he can go up and down all day but then he can slot into centre-half and still have enough to butt it about and be strong.”

White is Arsenal’s most underrated player

Arsenal have a number of elite players in their squad, and most of them get the credit they deserve after a good performance.

White, however, often goes under the radar.

The 26-year-old is arguably the Gunners’ most consistent performer. He puts in at least a 7/10 performance every single week, and his availability is almost never an issue as well.

White deserves so much more praise than he gets at Arsenal. Mikel Arteta certainly recognises his value, which is why he’s about to reward him with a brand new contract.

If all goes to plan, that should be announced very soon.
