Rob Green raves about West Ham-linked attacker Emiliano Buendia

Rob Green has waxed lyrical about Norwich City’s Emiliano Buendia, who has been linked with West Ham this month.

The reported (2nd May, 2021), as relayed by The Boot Room, that West Ham are monitoring the 24-year-old.

It is understood that the trickster is on the Hammers radar for this summer’s transfer window.

Buendia has just enjoyed quite the season. After deciding to stick with Norwich last summer, he’s fired them straight back to the Premier League with promotion.

The Argentine winger scored 15 goals and made 17 assists during the Championship season. Ultimately, the Canaries finished top as title winners.

Green, who played in his career for both Norwich and West Ham, believes that Buendia has improved massively since he played in the Premier League during the 2019/20 season when the Canaries were relegated.

“He’s the best player in the Championship. He’s improved and has an edge. But without that edge I don’t think you get the same player,” Green told

“He’s taken his game to a new level this season. He’s gone a step backwards in terms of going back into the Championship but he’s really stepped it up.”

Buendia looks like a West Ham signing

If you’ve watched Buendia in the Championship this season, you’ll know he’s been a class above. His challenge now though is to replicate that form in the top flight.

The right-winger finished the campaign with 32 goal involvements, and he’s a neat dribbler that loves the ball at his feet.

West Ham boss David Moyes does have skilful players available to him such as Pablo Fornals, Said Benrahma and Manuel Lanzini, but he will need squad depth with the Europa League next season.
