Rio Ferdinand reacts as Romano makes Dele Alli claim
Rio Ferdinand that he believes that the appointment of Antonio Conte could be a turning point for Dele Alli following Fabrizio Romano’s claim that the Tottenham Hotspur boss wants to give the midfielder a big chance.
Dele is one of the players who stand to benefit more from the departure of Nuno Espirito Santo.

Despite starting the season with six starts in the Premier League, the 25-year-old fell over of favour. He was only on the pitch for 17 minutes in the top flight after being taken off at half-time of the North London derby.
He was an unused substitute for the draw with Everton in Conte’s second game. But Romano recently suggested that the Italian has left the door open for Dele.
He has now claimed that Conte wants to give the England international every opportunity to turn his fortunes around. And Ferdinand reacted by suggesting that it could prove to be a pivotal moment in his Tottenham career.

“I’m told by sources close to the club that he wants to give a big chance to Dele Alli,” .
“I’m sure Dele will be sitting there going, ‘I’ve got to get it right this time’. Conte, he doesn’t suffer fools, he doesn’t accept standards that are below what he sets. So I’m sure this is again a great opportunity,” Ferdinand then suggested.
“He’s now got a manager who’s going to have huge demands, be demanding of him constantly every day. And that might be the turning point for Dele.”
Turning Dele Alli’s Tottenham career around would be a huge win for Conte
Conte is one of the world’s best managers. But he would not be the first world-class boss to seemingly fail to get Dele back on track should his form not pick up.
His development looked to be stagnating in the latter stages of Mauricio Pochettino’s tenure. And Jose Mourinho only briefly got the best out of him.
So fans will have their doubts until there are a few signs that a turnaround is taking place.
But there is no question that reigniting Dele’s career could be a huge win for Conte.
