Rio Ferdinand raves about West Ham duo after Euro 2020 clash

The Czech Republic got their Euro 2020 campaign off to a flyer with a 2-0 win over Scotland, with Rio Ferdinand raving about their West Ham contingency.

Vladimir Coufal and Tomas Soucek were both in action as a Patrik Schick brace deflowered Scotland.

Ferdinand began his career with the Hammers and took to Twitter to rave about their current Czech pairing.

Both players made an immediate Euro 2020 impact. Coufal set the first goal up with a scrumptious cross, with Soucek laying on the second goal.

Ferdinand believes it has been a good start for West Ham at the Euros, praising the duo with congratulatory Tweet.

Both players have been revelations since checking in at the London Stadium.

Soucek cost the Hammers £in total, making his loan move permanent ahead of last season.

Coufal was an even greater bargain for West Ham. He cost just when joining the Premier League side from Slavia Prague.

David Moyes worked wonders to get them both to the club. In an inflated market, he managed to sign two quality players, without spending a fortune.

The two performing as they did today will certainly give England something to think about.

Gareth Southgate’s men are due to play the Czech Republic at Wembley a week tomorrow – and on this showing, England will need to be on their guard.

Schick’s beauty of a second goal certainly caught the eye but the West Ham pair proved the driving force of this win.

Ferdinand is right to rave about them and it’s perhaps no surprise to West Ham fans just how good they played.

Some will point to the fact that the performances came against Scotland but nontheless, they deserve the praise.

Moyes did brilliantly to get them both to the London Stadium and will undoubtedly look for similar gems this summer.
