Rio Ferdinand compares Harry Kane to Arsenal legend Thierry Henry following Spurs’ win over Leeds
Former Manchester United defender, Rio Ferdinand, believes Tottenham’s Harry Kane is comparable to former Arsenal striker Thierry Henry on current form.
Kane was once again instrumental for Spurs as they dispatched Leeds United yesterday afternoon. Kane scored the opener, before laying on the second for Heung-Min Son to wrap up the three points.

The England skipper has now hit double figures for both goals and assists this season and Ferdinand, speaking on following the game, believes Kane is now on a par with the likes of Wayne Rooney and Thierry Henry.
“The last striker that was doing goals and assists at that rate is Thierry Henry,” Ferdinand said. “He is being talked about in that kind of company. He is a fantastic footballer, humble, hardworking and somebody you want to stay fit for England’s sake,” Ferdinand .
“He reminds me more and more of Wayne Rooney. Rooney used to drop into pockets, the number 10 role, he could play high up. He could do everything.”

Kane will be looking to kick on into 2021 and end the trophy drought for Spurs under Jose Mourinho. And with 153 Premier League goals to his name already, the Spurs star won’t be too long in challenging the Alan Shearer’s 260 on current form.

Even if Spurs never win anything under Mourinho, one of the biggest success stories will be how he has transformed Kane from ruthless goalscorer to creator AND goalscorer.
Kane has been phenomenal and, at times, appears to be toying with defenders.
Worringly for other teams, he doesn’t even look like he has hit the very top gear he can go to. Spurs, then, will be excited for what 2021 can bring with their man leading the line.
