‘Ridiculous footballer’, ‘Needs to stay’: Some Leeds fans hail 19-year-old’s display, amid loan rumour

Leeds United put out a youthful team on Tuesday in a pre-season game against AFC Guiseley – and some of the club’s fans on Twitter were left raving about their young talent Crysencio Summerville.

Whites Under-23s boss Mark Jackson helped the team secure a 3-2 victory in a great exercise. The XI was mostly made up of the same group that secured promotion last season in the Premier League 2 Division Two.

The Yorkshire giants were on the scoresheet through Summerville, Sam Greenwood and Charlie Allen.

It’ll be interesting to see if any that were on show last night can really push into Marcelo Bielsa’s senior squad during the 2021/22 season.

Leeds fans love Summerville, but loan rumour exists

Summerville, who scored from the penalty spot and assisted another goal, was receiving a ton of praise on social media last night from the Leeds fanbase.

The 19-year-old is an exciting right-winger who has shades of Raphinha to his game, albeit he’s only in the early stages of his career so he shouldn’t read too much into the comparison.

reported last week that Leeds are in talks with Eredivisie club SC Cambuur about a possible season-long loan. It’s a deal that would see him return to his homeland Holland for a year to play senior football. Apparently, Bielsa’s side may grant the loan move.

Some Leeds fans would rather he stays at Elland Road to try push from the Under-23s to the first team. However, it looks like a temporary exit may be on the cards.
