Richarlison position change will open up Everton opportunity for Lookman

Everton have a big talent on their hands in Ademola Lookman, but they have failed to find a role for him this season. The England youth international has played just 46 minutes in the Premier League.

Last season, Lookman saw his reputation surge across Europe as he impressed during a loan spell with RB Leipzig. He contributed five goals and three assists in the Bundesliga.

They were keen to keep him, but Everton brought him back to England. The signing of Richarlison was seen as a major barrier to Lookman, as they both operate on the left-wing.

However, Richarlison was played a central striker during Everton’s win at the weekend against Leicester City. Bernard was the player used on the left wing, but in the long term, it has to be seen as a positive for Lookman.

The 20-year-old may no longer be battling with the club’s record signing for a starting place. If Richarlison remains in a central role, there will be more opportunities for Lookman.

Although he hasn’t featured much to date, it is important that Everton find a role for Lookman, as it is obvious he has a lot of potential. If they don’t, they risk losing him in the next 12 months.
