Richarlison drops fresh two-word injury update to Tottenham fans ahead of Man United clash
Tottenham Hotspur have had several injury issues since the start of the season.
Spurs are a very good side when everyone’s fit, but Ange Postecoglou’s men have struggled because of player unavailability over the last two months.
The likes of Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven missing games have hurt Tottenham the most, but they aren’t the only ones who have spent time on the sidelines.
Richarlison has barely played this season, but there could soon be some good news on that front.
Richarlison shares injury update with Tottenham fans
Tottenham signed Richarlison from Everton in the summer of 2022.
The Brazilian, hailed as an ‘unbelievable’ player by Dejan Kulusevski on , had an awful debut campaign at Spurs. He came under a lot of criticism at the time, but he looked a lot better under Postecoglou in the 2023/24 season.
However, injuries have really troubled Richarlison. He has managed just 173 minutes of football for Tottenham in all competitions this season.
Postecoglou needs his injured players back as quickly as possible, and it looks like there’s some good news with regards to Richarlison.
The Brazilian, who hasn’t played since early November, took to social media on Wednesday night to confirm that he is closing in on a return to full fitness.
Along with a picture of himself on the training ground, Richarlison wrote: “Almost there!
Will Richarlison play for Tottenham vs Manchester United in the EFL Cup?
Tottenham take on Manchester United in the quarter-final of the EFL Cup on Thursday night.
This is a huge game for Spurs, who are desperate to get their hands on silverware this season. Postecoglou has put more pressure on himself as well by claiming that he always wins trophies in his second year.
A win against United is a necessity, but Tottenham will have to do it without Richarlison – he is close but is not fit enough to feature against the Red Devils.
When asked when Richarlison could return, Postecoglou claimed: “Potentially first week of the new year.”
That is still good news for Tottenham. Having Richarlison back will offer a lot of solutions to Postecoglou in his attack.
