Richard Keys thinks there are only three players Man United will be able to sell this summer
Richard Keys has now revealed that he thinks there are only three players Manchester United will be able to sell in the summer transfer window.
Sir Jim Ratcliffe is believed to be feeling open minded about sales and will consider offers for the majority of those currently at Manchester United – according to a story from the .
It is said that only Kobbie Mainoo, Rasmus Hojlund and Alejandro Garnacho are not up for sale.
There is plenty of deadwood at Old Trafford right now – to say the very least – although Richard Keys believes Manchester United will only be able to sell three players…

Well, the Telegraph mention the likes of Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Victor Lindelof, Christian Eriksen and Donny van de Beek as the type of player Manchester United would like to offload this summer.
However, Keys feels nobody will be interested in taking these figures from the Red Devils, instead naming Marcus Rashford, Scott McTominay and Harry Maguire as the only players he can see being bought.
The beIN SPORTS pundit said: “It’ll be interesting to see what Utd raise from their fire-sale. Who would buy any of them? You’d take McTominay & gamble on a cut-price Rashford. McGuire (Maguire) as well. As for the rest? 🤷♂️.”
We can see where Keys is coming from.
While Manchester United might be able to sell the likes of Antony, Lindelof, Eriksen and Van de Beek this summer, there is no way the Red Devils should expect to receive anywhere near the amount they initially spent.
A number of players have seen their values decrease substantially since arriving at Old Trafford – just take a look at the following figures, and decide for yourself whether these names are still worth such large sums.
- Antony (£85m from Ajax)
- Donny van de Beek (£35m from Ajax)
- Victor Lindelof (£31m from Benfica)
- Casemiro (£70m from Real Madrid)
- Aaron Wan-Bissaka (£50m from Crystal Palace)
- Mason Mount (£55m from Chelsea)
- Harry Maguire (£80m from Leicester)
Clean slate
Manchester United will surely need to accept huge losses on some players if they are to be sold this summer, although the approach to the summer transfer window is wise.

It is time for the Red Devils to rip up the playbook and start again, just like Arsenal did under Mikel Arteta.
A number of managers have failed to get a tune out of the aforementioned deadwood, which suggests it is a matter of personnel within the playing staff rather than just a coaching issue.
Hopefully, Manchester United can find buyers for players beyond the likes of Rashford, McTominay and Maguire this summer.
