Richard Keys shocked at news Arsenal and Tottenham have received ahead of the North London derby
Tottenham may fancy themselves just that little bit more this weekend against Arsenal, after hearing a couple of bits of injury news come out about their rivals.
Ange Postecoglou‘s side have kept possession and controlled games well in all of their three Premier League games so far, but they’ve lacked that killer instinct at times.
Of course, Dominic Solanke’s injury won’t have helped Tottenham up until this stage but he could be back for the North London derby, and so could Micky van de Ven.
Arsenal, on the other hand, will be heading into this one in a rather vulnerable position after losing Martin Odegaard to injury and Declan Rice to suspension.
Gabriel Jesus is another player who won’t necessarily feature against Tottenham or even make the squad, with Charles Watts providing an update on his situation.
However, it was a different piece of news that caught Richard Keys‘ attention ahead of the North London derby…

Richard Keys can’t believe what the PGMOL have told Arsenal to do ahead of the North London derby vs Tottenham
Arsenal have been told by the PGMOL that they need to change their kit to face Tottenham in the North London derby this Sunday.
PGMOL (Professional Game Match Officials Limited) and the Premier League believe the 2024/25 home kit features “too much white” – meaning it was expected to clash with Tottenham’s home shirt.
Therefore, Mikel Arteta will see his side adopt the black Adidas away kit and Spurs have to wear their away shirt at the Emirates Stadium in the return fixture.
If the PGMOL aren’t sending out apologies for VAR decisions, they’re now messing with kits.
When was the last time Arsenal had to wear a kit other than their traditional red?
1986 was the last time that Arsenal wore a kit other than their traditional red and white home strip in the North London derby, which is 38 years ago now.
Of course, it won’t affect the result of the game, but not seeing Arsenal donning their usual kit will feel very weird for the fans and neutral spectators.
Mikel Arteta won’t let the kit change affect him though, as he has other things to worry about.
The dilemma the Spaniard currently faces is whether to start Raheem Sterling or Leandro Trossard up top, as well as finding a replacement to slot into Declan Rice’s position.
