Richard Keys says something David Moyes did during Newcastle 4-3 West Ham may have influenced the referee
Richard Keys believes something David Moyes did during the Premier League clash between Newcastle and West Ham may have influenced Rob Jones.
The 66-year-old made the comments when speaking alongside And💟y Gr💮ay on beIN SPORTS.
It was a Premier League classic between the Magpies and the Hammers on Tyneside, toꦅ say the least.
The game pretty much had everything, from penalties to red cards, including one controversial moment when Mohammed Kudus put West Ham 2-1 ahead.
It was just before the Ghana international’s goal where David Moyes did something that caught the eye of Richard Keys…
What David Moyes did during Newcastle 4-3 West Ham
Well, Newcastle wanted the Ghanaian’sꦏ goal to be dis🌱allowed, as it came while Fabian Schar was down on the ground with a head injury.
The game usually stops for an incident such as that so the medical staff can enter the pitch, although Jones allowed Lucas Paqueta to play a quick freekick to Jarrod Bowen, which led t🍷o Kudus scoring.
No🌸w, Keys has claimed an act from Moyes may have contributed to that goal being allowed.
He said: “There was also an earlier incident in that half where West Ham were denied the ability to take a freekick quickly, if you remember, and David Moyes was furious on the touchline. Maybe the protest found its way to the ref, and at that point, he thought, well I can’t do it again (deny the t൲aking of a quick freekick).
“I think▨ ninꦯe times out of ten, that is not allowed.”
It was a surprise to see Jones allow the goal – according to Darren Fletcher on commentary duty for TNT Sports, it was also a situation whe🌃re VAR couldn’t get involved.
Eddie Howe will be delighted
While Moyes will be heading back to London♉ seething, Howe will be absolutely delighted with what he saw from his players today.
Newcastle looked 𝕴set for another miserable afternoon when Bowen put West Ham 3-1 ahead just aft🔯er half-time.

There were also a number of injuries to add to Howe’s ever-growing list of absentees, with Jamaal Lascelles and Miguel Almiron ꧃trudging off the field during the 90 minutes.
However, those fit enough to stay on the pitch truly stepped up to keep Newc🧸astle in with a chance of qualifying for the UEFA Europa League next season – the Magpies now sit eighth, just one point behind West Ham with a game in hand.
