Richard Keys says Arsenal player was absolutely useless at Euro 2024
Richard Keys has now taken aim at one Arsenal player’s efforts for his country at UEFA Euro 2024.
11 Arsenal stars travelled to Germany this summer, with Kai Havertz, Kieran Tierney,🍸 Bukayo Saka, D💎eclan Rice, Aaron Ramsdale, David Raya, Jakub Kiwior, Jorginho, William Saliba, Oleksandr Zinchenko and Leandro Trossard all involved.
So, which Arsenal player has Richard Keys accused of doing🍸 “nothing” at UEFA Euro 🐬2024? Let’s take a look…
Richard Keys criticises Arsenal No.41 Declan Rice
The 67-year-old has now ripped into Declan Rice for his efforts at UEFA Euro 2024, while also being critical of Bukayo Saka as well.
Keys : “Saka got to the byline once before delivering a deflected cr💮oss that Jude Bellingham hurled himself at to score. Rice? No. ꦍNothing.”

Rafaꦺel van der Vaart also called Rice “useless” after Sunday’s final.
In our view, that is very harsh.
Admittedly, Rice🐟 did not show the levels he had displayed for Arsenal throughout the 2023/24 campaign during England’s run to the UEFA Euro 2024 final, although Gareth Southgate’s tactics seemingl🦩y did not allow for that to happen.
Gareth Southgate limited the England international
The Arsenal No.41 was practically♑ allowed to play as a box-to-box No.8 by Mikel Arteta, o🌊r even more of an attacking midfielder, last season as Jorginho pulled the strings in a No.6 role.
That enab🐻led Rice to impressively score seven goals and provide ten assists in 51 appea🍎rances across all competitions, but for England, he was limited to the holding role, which does not allow him to use his immense athleticism to crash the box and cause headaches for opponents.
Nevertheless🥂, in his role for England – where he was made to sit♋ deeper to allow Bellingham and Phil Foden to push on – the £105m man still showcased his exceptional ability to defend.
SofaScoᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚ𒀱ᩚᩚᩚre shows that Rice made tackles per game at UEFA Euro 20ಞ24, as well as 5.3 ball recoveries every 90 minutes – he was also dribbled past just 0.4 times per game on average.

Ultimately – in our view at least – Arsenal’s record signing suffered from not having a similar midfielder to Jorginho playing alongside him, which is made all the more frustrating by the fact Adam Wharton was there🍨 at Southgate’s disposal, bꦜut did not play a single second.
Hopefully, Rice can put the disappointment of lo𝐆sing against Spain behind him, and focus on winning silverware for Arsenal in the 2024/25 campaign.
