Reputable journalist claims Florian Neuhaus wants Liverpool transfer

German football journalist Christian Falk has told the that Borussia Monchengladbach star Florian Neuhaus has his heart set on a move to Liverpool.

has previously claimed that the 24-year-old has a release clause of £34 million and that has alerted the Reds and other clubs towards his potential availability.

The 24-year-old is enjoying a standout campaign with the Bundesliga outfit, quickly becoming one of the league’s top talents.

He has scored seven goals and claimed eight assists in all competitions, with a very bright future seemingly on the cards for the German.

The central midfielder is being eyed as a replacement for Gini Wijnaldum. Liverpool’s maestro is yet to sign a new deal and looks increasingly likely to leave Anfield this summer.

A departure would leave Jurgen Klopp with a void to fill and adding Neuhaus to the ranks would represent a smart piece of business.

Liverpool typically operate with a three-man midfield and Neuhaus could prove to be a useful addition ahead of next season.

The Reds are unlikely to be in the Champions League next season and they will need to cut their cloth accordingly.

As a result, a player of Neuhaus’ ilk would have to be viewed as a coup if Liverpool can get something over the line.

Neuhaus perhaps isn’t in the same mould as the Holland international, boasting a better blend of versatility and more of a creative spark in the final third.

The youngster is the type of player who could thrive under Klopp’s management and with other clubs likely to be interested, Liverpool must act quickly.
