Reports: Leeds United ‘discussed’ Lucas Vazquez transfer option, Real Madrid star rejects new contract
Leeds United have reportedly considered a move for Real Madrid utility man Lucas Vazquez, according to reports.
that Leeds looked for another winger in the summer and that Vazquez was one of the players ‘discussed’ at Elland Road.
The report did not suggest that any official approach was made or that the interest has carried over into January regarding a move for the three-time Champions League winner.
However, in a further development, Vazquez’s future at the Spanish giants has never looked more in doubt. the 29-year-old has rejected Los Merengues’ first offer of a new contract and his current deal at the Bernabeu expires in June.

Vazquez was considered surplus to requirements at Real at the start of the season, which may have led to Leeds’ apparent interest.
However, he has gone on to produce some excellent form this term for Zinedine Zidane’s men.

Vazquez would undoubtedly fit the bill of a player Marcelo Bielsa would be interested in.
Not only is he a non-stop action winger but he has recently showcased a propensity to drop into a full-back position, a versatility with which Bielsa would be immeasurably fond of.
His deal at Real is now entering its final six months and should Leeds decide to act on their previous interest this month there is no reason why they could not do a similar deal to the one which saw Vazquez’s former teammate Kiko Casilla head to West Yorkshire in January 2019.
For the moment, it appears as though Vazquez was just a passing thought for Leeds. But fans will no doubt be keeping tabs on any further developments over what would be another coup of a recruit from Victor Orta’s homeland.
