Reports: Everton waiting to thrash out Djibril Sidibe agreement, Monaco could accept lower permanent fee
There are two reports regarding the future of Djibril Sidibe at Everton emerging this week, one relating to his short-term future and the other more long-term.
Firstly, is discussing plans to find an agreement regarding a short-term extension to his current loan spell.
The Monaco defender’s current deal at Everton will expire next month, but the Premier League is now expected to go on beyond that date.
suggests that Everton will hold talks with Sidibe and Monaco once a final decision has been made regarding the restart of the Premier League season.
Meanwhile, in France, has highlighted a potential reduction in the asking price for Everton to potentially sign Sidibe permanently.
Monaco are desperate to make some money this summer, and the sale of Sidibe is considered vital. It is claimed that the Ligue 1 side could lower the currently pre-agreed €14 million (£12.6 million) transfer fee in Sidibe’s loan contract.
Whilst Sidibe has shown glimpses of his World Cup-winning quality it could be argued that bringing in another right-back might be unnecessary for Everton this summer.
Seamus Coleman remains an option whilst Jonjoe Kenny has impressed during a loan spell at Bundesliga side Schalke this term.
But if Monaco do lower that price-tag significantly, then Everton will undoubtedly consider a move for the player who has seen plenty of action under Carlo Ancelotti.
