Reported Tottenham target Jerome Boateng ‘surprised’ at contract rumours
Jerome Boateng has been speaking about his future at Bayern Munich amid recent rumours linking him with a summer move to the Premier League.Â
Tottenham Hotspur are one of the teams said to be keen on the German veteran, with Jose Mourinho said to be a long-term fan from his time at Manchester United.
Boateng himself even in 2018 that transfer interest from Mourinho was ‘an honour
The latest reports have report suggesting Boateng had been made clear of the German giantsâ€?intentions to not hand him a new deal with his current contract expiring next summer.Â

But it seems like that assertion is news to Boateng himself.Â
“Nobody approached me,the 2014 World Cup winner . “Nobody spoke to me, I didn’t know anything about it, I was surprised.
“I feel the coach and the team are valued and you will see the rest./span>
Tottenham fans have had a mixed reaction to the news that Mourinho wants Boateng at the club. Given his age, it seemed a potential deal that does not necessarily marry up with the project at Spurs.Â
However, they might not need to worry at this rate.Â
Boateng seems happy at Bayern and it seems he has not been informed that his time at the club is up, even if his contract is expiring next summer.Â
The German international is still a fundamental member of Hansi Flick’s project at the Allianz Arena and it would be extremely surprising if Bayern did not hand Boateng a new deal for next season â€?especially given the situation involving David Alaba.Â
Tottenham fans who do not want Boateng might just get their wish.
