Reported Spurs target has been compared to Peter Crouch, but plays as Kane-style ‘nine-and-a-half’
Reported Tottenham Hotspur target Sasa Kalajdzic has previously spoken of his comparisons to Spurs cult hero Peter Crouch as well as Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
However, the 6ft 6in forward believes he’s not a classic No. 9, but more a “nine-and-a-half” – similar to how Harry Kane has been deployed this season.
The reported earlier this week that Tottenham are eyeing up a summer move for the Stuttgart striker.

, meanwhile, claims that Spurs have already made contact with Kalajdzic’s camp with a view to a potential move.
The 23-year-old has enjoyed a superb season for his club, registering 14 goals and four assists from 27 Bundesliga appearances, of which 17 have been starts.
Kalajzdic has also done well for Austria in recent months, scoring three goals in the recent World Cup qualifiers against Scotland and the Faroe Islands.
With his contract running until the summer of 2023, Stuttgart’s hand isn’t as strong as it could be regarding negotiations, so he’s not an unrealistic target for Spurs.
So, what kind of player would they be getting?
Kalajzdic did an interview with the Bundesliga last year where he talked about comparisons with other players his style of play.
He said: “I’ve heard a comparison with Ibrahimovic, Peter Crouch, anything from ‘tall and lanky’ to ‘tall’ and an ‘Ibrahimovic-Machine’… I’ve heard ‘the next Mario Gomez’.”
In terms of his gameplay, he said: “I’m not really a classic target man, not really someone who hangs around in the box.
“I try to incorporate that into my game, to improve that area of my game, but because I played in midfield a lot when I was younger I try to be more creative.
“To be strong, I try to be a modern striker, despite my height. I think I do that well with my ability and the way I play. I like the way we play as well. At the moment I’m very happy.
“I’m not a classic No.9, maybe something between a nine and a 10, something like that maybe. A nine and a half!”
