Reported Liverpool target Joao Felix scores for Benfica against rivals Sporting Lisbon
Joao Felix added to his fast-growing reputation with a goal in Benfica’s away victory over city rivals Sporting Lisbon.
In the Lisbon derby, Sporting CP hosted Benfica but were blown away by their arch rivals.
Felix netted Benfica’s second goal of the game to put them 2-0 up and the match ended in a 4-2 win for the away side.
The 19-year-old was also named man of the match in this match and it seems like the sky is the limit for the talented teenager.
Liverpool have been linked with Felix in the recent past and their scouts would have been extremely impressed by his latest performance for Benfica.
Jurgen Klopp’s men reportedly had a bid of more than £60m turned down by Benfica () as they tried to woo the Portugal under-21 star to Anfield.
But if Felix can continue to perform as he did in the derby, then Liverpool will surely return next summer. This latest display would have put the Merseyside outfit on red alert as they try to win the race for the attacking midfielder.
