Report: Wolves table £25.5m offer for Champions League star, Arsenal linked in October

that Wolverhampton Wanderers have tabled an offer worth £25.5million to sign Olympiacos attacker Daniel Podence, after he impressed against Tottenham Hotspur in the Champions League.

Podence, 24, has been in decent form this season, having a hand in 10 goals this season. He has scored five goals and created another five during his 27 league and cup appearances six of which have come in the Champions League group stage.

The uncapped Portuguese ace scored against Tottenham in a 2-2 draw and featured in all of his side’s group games. He caught the attention of Arsenal back in October, and has a contract until the summer of 2023.

Now, the former Sporting Lisbon star could be on his way to Molineux, with the Portuguese connection proving strong at Wolves. It is believed Wolves have tabled an offer worth £25.5million for the attacking midfielder who can also play out wide.

TBR’s view A good signing for Wolves?

It is a fair old sum to spend on a player that has managed just five goals in 27 games for a side that dominate the Greek league. Yes, he plays out wide, but Podence should be looking to score every match against Olympiakospoor Greek opponents.

To spend more than £25million on a player such as Podence, Wolves would certainly be paying over the odds. However, he would still be a decent option he just needs to improve on his final product, something which Adama Traore has done.
