Report: Wolves signing Trincao hands Nuno boost in luring striker to Tottenham

Wolves announced the signing of Barcelona talent Trincao on loan for the 2021-22 campaign – but the move could help Tottenham. That is according to , who claim both Wolves and Tottenham have shown interest in Valencia’s Goncalo Guedes. But Trincao helps Spurs.

Both Tottenham and Wolves are after additions in the final third. Wolves made the somewhat out-of-the-blue signing of Trincao last week, giving them another option out wide – and up front. He is very similar to that of Guedes in terms of positions he can play. Valencia need to sell Guedes.

Guedes, 24, is able to play on either flank, as a 10 or up front. In 34 games, he had a hand in 14 goals last season. Sevilla are leading the way – Valencia want just £17million. The report says that Wolves signing Trincao ends their Guedes interest, which in turn is a boost for Nuno and Tottenham.

Guedes a brilliant signing for Tottenham, as Wolves get Trincao

Tottenham need a couple of additions in the final third this summer. Gareth Bale is expected to return to Real Madrid and see out the last 12 months of his contract under Carlo Ancelotti. Carlos Vinicius has returned to parent club from Benfica, after a pretty poor loan spell with Tottenham.

So, bringing in a player that can play up top but also out wide is ideal. Guedes, at £17million, is a bargain. He is young, quick, scores and creates goals, and has massive resale value. A no-brainer for Nuno.
