Report: Wolves move in January an option for 24-year-old title-winner; could cost £21.4m

Wolves are expected to make a January move for Renato Sanches with Lille needing to raise funds to clear some of their debt, .

Sanches has managed to rebuild his career while with the Ligue 1 side. Of course, the 24-year-old has been impressive for much of his time in the Portugal squad.

But it looks to be the midfielder’s time at Lille that has got his club career back on track. Obviously, he was part of the side that won the title last year.

Unfortunately for Lille, it appears that their push for the title has come at a cost.

that the club’s current owners believe that they inherited a debt of around £136 million. And with that, sales in January will be required.

And one of the options they have is to sell Sanches, with Wolves keen on the former Swansea City loanee. It is suggested by Foot Mercato that he could cost £21.4 million.

Sanches move could be exciting for Wolves side that needs to refresh midfield

Sanches is coming into what should be the peak years of his career. And it does appear that Bruno Lage’s midfield does need to be refreshed.

Joao Moutinho has come in for criticism at times. And it has always disappointed fans when he has been paired with Leander Dendoncker.

Moutinho is now 35 years of age. So it is imperative that they strengthen in the middle of the park.

And with Lille needing to sell players, the door may be open to Wolves producing a coup in their pursuit of Sanches.
