If there’s one striker who has been linked with a move to Arsenal almost every day over the last two months, it’s Fiorentina star Dusan Vlahovic.

The Serbian has been the best forward in Serie A over the last 18 months. He finished last season with 21 goals in all competitions, while he has already scored 18 times this campaign.

At the rate, Vlahovic, will end the season with over 30 goals for Fiorentina, but is there a chance that he won’t even play for La Viola again? reveal that Arsenal have tabled a bid already.

The report claims that the Gunners lodged a player-plus-cash bid worth £58.6 million this week. It has been claimed that Edu has offered £46 million in cash and has included Lucas Torreira in the deal, who Fiorentina can sign at the end of the season for £12.6 million. That bid is reportedly being considered.

Have Arsenal really tabled a bid for Dusan Vlahovic?

The January transfer window is a very tricky period to pull off big-money deals. The only one Arsenal have managed in recent years is Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, and that was back in 2018. That, in itself, raises a few eyebrows about this bid.

has reportedly reached out to his sources at Arsenal to see if this information is true.

He has revealed in an that his sources at the Emirates are playing down suggestions that the Gunners are serious contenders for Vlahovic.

That is bad news for Arsenal fans, who really would love a player of Vlahovic’s quality at the Emirates.

TBR View:

Vlahovic could still end up at Arsenal and the Gunners may just be playing the links down to get this deal over the line without making a lot of noise.

However, it really is unlikely, especially in this month’s transfer window.

The only way Arsenal would likely be able to go all out for the Serbian this month is if they can push Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and his wages out of the club.

That will surely free up some space and make resources available to bring Vlahovic in. However, the chances of this happening still remain extremely slim and Arsenal fans shouldn’t really get their hopes up at this moment in time.
