It was claimed on Sunday that contact had been made between the two clubs. And plenty of Arsenal fans seemed delighted with the links.

And it seems that the Gunners have now received a big boost in their pursuit of the 24-year-old midfielder.

, Wolves are expecting an offer from Arsenal for the Portuguese in the coming days – and they are reportedly open to selling him.

It is claimed that they want a figure of around £41 million for Neves, which is what the club received for Diogo Jota last summer.

Interestingly, the Mail adds that Neves is aware of interest from the Emirates, and it is claimed that he has told his teammates that he would be open to joining Arsenal.

Arsenal must capitalise with Neves reportedly keen on Emirates transfer

Arsenal have already been dealt a blow in the early stages of the transfer window.

They were heavily linked with Emi Buendia, but he looks to be Aston Villa-bound.

So Neves’ stance is a huge boost. They must surely now make sure that they capitalise and bring him in.

Of course, much may come down to what fee they have to pay. Wolves are clearly not going to let Neves leave on the cheap.

But Neves looks to be an exceptional talent, and he has the potential to get considerably better.

Arsenal look to be in a fantastic position with Neves apparently keen on a move and Wolves open to a sale.

The onus is now on them to make sure that they get a deal across the line.
