Report: What Lampard has told Everton about Arsenal target Calvert-Lewin

ꦜArsenal have been dealt another blow in the January transfer window with Everton-bound boss Frank Lampard telling the Toffees hierarchy that they must not sell Dominic Calvert-Lewin before the window shuts, .

♌The Gunners are running out of time to sign a new striker before the deadline passes. Of course, Dusan Vlahovic will not be moving to the Emirates.

They have been linked𒈔 with other names such as Alexander Isak and Raul de Tomas. But it appeared that they could prioritise signing Calvert-Lewin.

Previous reports claimedꦕ that Arsenal viewed the Everton talisman as a good fit for their squad. And they were not put off by the prospect of paying £60 million for the England international.

🐻It looked to be a good time to try your luck in a bid to sign players from Everton. The Toffees had been woeful in the final months of Rafa Benitez’s tenure. And they had lost in Duncan Ferguson’s only game in interim charge.

📖Calvert-Lewin is one of the best strikers in the Premier League right now. Carlo Ancelotti labelled him a ‘‘ forward during his time on Merseyside.

🍃And his admirers may have hoped that it was possible to lure him away. However, Arsenal may have now missed the boat – for this window, anyway.

𓂃 that Lampard’s appointment at Goodison Park is imminent. And he has told the club’s hierarchy that he wants Calvert-Lewin to go nowhere.

🧸He hopes to build his team around the 24-year-old. And with that, Arsenal will seemingly have to look elsewhere.

Arsenal face tough decision amid Calvert-Lewin blow

꧂Arsenal would not have expected a clear run to the signature of Calvert-Lewin. But Lampard’s insistence that he is staying put is a real blow.

💮It remains to be seen how the Gunners respond. Clearly, the deadline is looming. And a number of targets have been taken off the list.

ꦆArsenal now need to weigh up whether they have the options in their current squad to navigate the season, or whether they need to make a last-minute push for a player who may have previously been further down the list.
