Report: What Harry Kane told friends about Tottenham future
Tottenham Hotspur getting knocked out of the FA Cup could have implications for what the future holds for Harry Kane in North London, that he had told friends that he thought winning the competition would have paved the way for further success under Antonio Conte.
Spurs were stunned on Tuesday with Middlesbrough knocking them out after extra-time. The result at the Riverside became the latest in a bizarre run of form for Conte’s men. They have not won two games in a row since Boxing Day. And they have not drawn a game since December either.

The result looks damaging having come so soon after Conte seemed to flirt with the idea of leaving. But it is also particularly worrying as it all but confirms that Tottenham will go without silverware this year.
And with that, thoughts now turn to what that may mean for Kane and his Tottenham future. Of course, he was heavily linked with a move to Manchester City last summer.

that Kane was undecided regarding whether he wanted to leave in the next window. However, he is loving playing under Conte. And winning the FA Cup could have been hugely significant.
The Evening Standard reports that he had told friends that winning the competition would likely pave the way for more honours under the Italian.
Clearly however, that will not now happen. So Tottenham fans will be nervous to learn how Kane has reacted to their exit.
Tottenham could still finish season on high and boost hopes of keeping Kane
There is still an opportunity for Tottenham to enjoy a successful end to the season. Finishing in the top-four would be a big boost, particularly with Spurs now having lots of time to move on from this particular disappointment.
And the Evening Standard suggests that Conte’s own future could have implications for Kane.
But obviously, Tottenham getting knocked out of the fifth round of the FA Cup by a Championship side does not send out the most positive message to Kane.
