Report: What Blackburn have told Southampton about Adam Armstrong swap idea
Southampton have been told by Blackburn Rovers that they want a cash-only deal for Adam Armstrong and are not keen on a swap, despite the Championship side’s interest in Michael Obafemi, .
The Saints are looking to be the ones to offer Armstrong a route back into the Premier League.

The 24-year-old scored 28 goals in just 40 league games for Tony Mowbray’s men last year. Unsurprisingly, Rovers want a big fee for the former Newcastle man.
, his club want £25 million for Armstrong. But it seemed that the Saints had a potential ace up their sleeve.

It was recently claimed that Blackburn want Obafemi. So it is little surprise that Ralph Hasenhuttl’s men floated the idea of a swap deal.
However, The Sun is reporting that Blackburn told Southampton that they only want a cash deal for Armstrong.
And unfortunately, it is also claimed that the two clubs are miles apart in talks.
Southampton right to dig heels in as swap idea for Armstrong is rejected
Armstrong was outstanding last season. But he is out of contract next summer.
Of course, Rovers are right to demand a huge fee.
The pursuit has some similarities with another saga involving Southampton this summer.
The Saints are looking to keep Danny Ings as his contract begins its final year.
Crucially, recent reports claimed that Southampton would want at least £25 million for Ings.
Obviously, Ings is older. But with that price in mind, the Saints are surely right to dig their heels in.
Armstrong is unproven at the highest level. So he should surely command a smaller fee than the Southampton talisman.
