Report: West Ham will listen to offers for Anderson and three players, including ‘a giant’

West Ham United will listen to offers for Winston Reid, Xande Silva and Andriy Yarmolenko alongside plans to sell Felipe Anderson, according to .

David Moyes is mindful of spending the club’s cash carefully, but wants to add players who will work hard and have resale value. His plans feature signing a defender, central midfielder and striker, while retaining Jesse Lingard.

West Ham hope to have more incomings than outgoings this summer, yet will look to trim the fringes. A raft of loan exits is likely, while permanent sales are welcome for Reid, Silva, Yarmolenko and Anderson.

West Ham paid Borussia Dortmund for Yarmolenko in 2018 during the first of Manuel Pellegrini’s windows in charge. But the Ukraine winger has not featured regularly under Moyes and has a year left on his contract.

Yarmolenko is also the top-earner at the London Stadium on a deal. While Anderson likewise is a free agent when his terms expire next summer, as is Silva who spent 2020/21 on loan with Aris Saloniki.

Reid has two years left on a contract but has not featured for West Ham since March 2018. The New Zealander missed 19-months with a sustained against Swansea during his for the Irons.

West Ham will save a large sum by finding suitors for Anderson, Yarmolenko and Reid. The Hammers wanted to sell the first two of the trio last year, per the . But Yarmolenko stayed while Anderson joined Porto on loan.

Anderson has interest from several clubs who have contacted West Ham to sound out his situation. That includes Flamengo, but he would prefer to stay in Europe with a return to Lazio possible.

TBR’s view: West Ham must sell Moyes’ unwanted men

West Ham will not recoup what they paid for Anderson or Yarmolenko but must work to sell Moyes’ unwanted men. Neither are likely to earn a key role in the Scottish coach’s plans and could be replaced for next season.

Yarmolenko in the Premier League last term as a bit-part player from the bench. But he failed to deliver with one assist over 15 outings and no goals. Anderson also only offered Porto games in total.

Reid, meanwhile, returned from injury to join Sporting KC on loan in February 2020 before joining Brentford over the winter. Thomas Frank hailed the 32-year-old as ‘a giant’, via the , during his time with the Bees, as well.

But Reid only started appearances for the Championship play-off winners. He lost his place at the end of March and only returned to play the final 11 minutes of the final at Wembley. Not enough to enter Moyes’ plans.
