that the Chilean is still set to be sacked before Christmas with a decision already made. And the club have a number of names on their radar.

The Star reports that David Moyes, Chris Hughton and Eddie Howe are all wanted by the Hammers board. But there is also interest in Martinez and Ancelotti.

Ancelotti is a free agent after being dismissed by Napoli this week. But Martinez is an intriguing target given that he is gearing up to lead Belgium at Euro 2020.

TBR View – Are West Ham being too ambitious?

It is difficult to imagine Martinez leaving Belgium to take over at the London Stadium anytime soon. West Ham remain in relegation trouble despite their win. And the Spaniard will surely be focused on guiding his side to glory at Wembley next summer.

Ancelotti is also an ambitious option. But he is obviously much more approachable now that he is available. It would be a fantastic statement if the Hammers could land the Italian.

The problem West Ham’s decision-makers now perhaps have is that the fans’ expectations may begin to rise. If Pellegrini is sacked, it will be difficult to accept an underwhelming replacement after hearing names such as Ancelotti and Martinez linked.

The Hammers supporters may be unconvinced that they stand a chance of landing those managers anyway. But you could understand their frustrations if the club end up going down a completely different path.
