Report: West Ham verbally agree Kurt Zouma transfer with Chelsea
West Ham have verbally agreed a transfer with Chelsea for Kurt Zouma that wages continue to be an issue for the Irons.
Zouma looks set to be on move before the end of the summer transfer window. He has fallen out of favour under Thomas Tuchel at Stamford Bridge.

West Ham are favourites to sign the France international. But The Athletic notes that Spurs have also shown interest with the 26-year-old preferring to stay in London.
And it seems that the Hammers have cleared one major hurdle. that a verbal agreement over a transfer has been reached with the Champions League winners.

Chelsea reportedly want £25.8 million for the centre-back. And it would seem that the Irons are prepared to meet those demands.
The problem however, remains that Zouma wants £125,000-a-week at the London Stadium. And that is apparently preventing a deal from going through.
West Ham right to be wary of Zouma wage demands – but they must have backup option in mind
West Ham fans are, understandably, not best pleased with how quiet their window has been.
Reaching the Europa League group-stages presents David Moyes’s men with a fantastic opportunity. And yet, it feels like the club have potentially squandered the chance to capitalise.
Signing Zouma would not alleviate all of that frustration. But he is a very good player and would have the potential to be an outstanding signing.
However, you can understand why the club may be reluctant to pay Zouma such a high salary. As The Athletic notes, it is a lot more than what he is on at Stamford Bridge.
But should they ultimately walk away, they must have an alternative target in mind.
