West Ham United admire ‘very, very good’ manager but he’s just ruled out replacing David Moyes

West Ham United had real admiration for Oliver Glasner but have now seen him becoming the new Crystal Palace manager.

David Moyes brought a European trophy to West Ham United less than a year ago.

Yet after a run of six games without a win and three defeats in a row, Moyes finds himself under immense pressure.

Some fans demonstrated against Moyes during Saturday’s 2-0 defeat at Nottingham Forest with the Scot fighting for his job.

Fortunately for Moyes, one manager West Ham have been eyeing will not be heading to East London any time soon…

West Ham United admire Oliver Glasner

now claim that leading figures inside West Ham have real admiration for Oliver Glasner.

The Austrian had guided Eintracht Frankfurt to Europa League glory in 2022 and who did they beat in the semi-finals? West Ham.

Glasner has probably been on the West Ham radar ever since and the Hammers may well have fancied landing him as the eventual successor to Moyes.

However, West Ham won’t be appointing Glasner as he has now agreed to become the new Crystal Palace manager.

Missing out on Glasner will hurt in itself, but seeing him join a London rival? That has got to sting for West Ham chiefs.

Glasner was in the stands to watch Palace draw 1-1 at Everton on Monday night and will be looking to ensure the Eagles don’t slip into the relegation fight.

Glasner, who has been out of work since leaving Frankfurt last summer, arrives as Roy Hodgson’s replacement and Palace appear to be excited.

has raved about Glasner’s ‘outstanding’ record as well as his ‘exciting and attacking’ football.

Add in that as a ‘very, very good coach’ and it looks like Palace have landed a coup.

Glasner’s billing is pretty much what West Ham fans would like to see in charge but his move to Palace makes him one less name for Moyes to worry about as he battles for his job.
