West Ham think ‘outstanding’ player could be truly exceptional signing for them after Spurs staff have doubts

West Ham United are convinced about the potential signing of Bournemouth defender Lloyd Kelly on a free transfer.

The January transfer window has only just gone but fans may already be looking forward to the summer.

In the case of West Ham United fans, you could hardly blame them for wanting the end of the season to come.

David Moyes is a man under pressure right now with West Ham now six Premier League games without a win and on a three-game losing run.

Whether or not Moyes is in charge for the summer window is unclear but West Ham appear to have a key transfer target in mind.

West Ham really want Lloyd Kelly

now claim that West Ham believe Bournemouth defender Lloyd Kelly would be an ‘exceptional’ signing this summer.

It’s stated that three clubs are now the most likely destinations for Kelly this summer – Newcastle United, Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham United.

Kelly is understood to have been on the Spurs radar for a while whilst Newcastle boss Eddie Howe knows Kelly from Bournemouth.

Reports have though suggested that Spurs have doubts about Kelly because of his size, making a summer move seem unlikely.

West Ham appear to be absolutely convinced by Kelly though and may now make a serious push to sign him on a free transfer.

Kelly’s contract ends this summer and Bournemouth are described as being ‘not confident’ that they can tempt him into signing a new deal.

It looks like Kelly will be moving on this summer and West Ham are expected to be a major player in the race for his signature.

Kelly will appeal on free transfer

Premier League bosses have been flocking to sign left-footed defenders and Kelly fits the bill.

The former Bristol City talent is a natural left-footer and offers versatility to play at both left back and centre back.

Kelly – – has a turn of pace and is comfortable in possession too.

The problem is that Kelly’s injury record isn’t great and he recently returned from a six-game absence.

Kelly is bound to attract interest on a free transfer and West Ham may well believe that he is worth a punt without breaking the bank.
