Report: West Ham submit bid for Nottingham Forest’s Matty Cash
West Ham have reportedly launched an eight-figure bid to try sign defender Matty Cash from Championship side Nottingham Forest.
the Hammers have made an initial £10million offer for the right-back with £2million included in potential add-ons.
It is understood though that AC Milan and Southampton are also keen on trying to sign the 22-year-old during the current January transfer window.
Cash, who was a winger during his youth, has been transformed into a full-back by current Forest manager Sabri Lamouchi.
He’s come through the academy ranks at the City Ground and is now an important first teamer in their side.
The right-back has played 30 games across all competitions this season, scoring two goals and supplying four assists in return.
His current deal doesn’t expire until 2023 and the youngster is performing well in a team sat fourth int he Championship chasing down promotion.

TBR’s View:
Cash certainly looks like someone destined to play in the top-flight in the future and he’s been a real standout as an attack-minded right-back this season.
But he would have to hit the ground running if he linked up with David Moyes’ team, as they are in the thick of a Premier League relegation battle and are only above the bottom three on goal difference as it stands.
The right-back area certainly looks like a position that needs improving, as Ryan Fredericks has never been consistent and veteran Pablo Zabaelta is now aged 35.
