Report: West Ham see Emerson Palmieri loan enquiry rejected
West Ham have failed with a loan enquiry for Emerson Palmieri, that Chelsea want to keep the left-back for the second-half of the season.
The Hammers are looking to strengthen their options in that position. As noted by the Mirror, David Moyes is set to be without Arthur Masuaku until the end of February due to injury.

And that seems to have prompted the Irons to look at Emerson. The Mirror reports that they have reached out to the Blues and enquired about the 26-year-old.
However, that Frank Lampard wants to hold onto the Italy international.

It may be a blow for Emerson to not secure a move away. He has only made two substitute appearances in the Premier League this season.
He has featured a little more in the Champions League. But with the knockout stages coming up on the horizon, it would arguably be little surprise if he fell down the pecking order in that competition also.
Lampard will be vindicated if Chelsea lose Ben Chilwell to injury at any stage. But it may frustrate West Ham.
Aaron Cresswell has arguably looked at his best this term when on the left of a back three. But he has had to play at left-back in more recent times with Masuaku missing.
Signing a rival for Masuaku would allow Moyes to be versatile once again and switch between a back three and four.
Unfortunately, it appears that Emerson – who earns £75,000-a-week, – will not be the man to fill the void.
