Report: West Ham rivalling Newcastle for £50m attacker Joelinton
that West Ham United have joined the race to sign Hoffenheim attacker Joelinton from under the clutches of Newcastle United this summer.
The uncapped Brazilian, 22, has been in sensational form for Bundesliga side Hoffenheim this season. He has scored 11 goals and created nine more in just 32 league and cup outings.
that Newcastle wanted to sign the former Rapid Vienna for £52million in the summer. That is despite owner Mike Ashley’s lack of backing given to Rafa Benitez.
A move to St. James’ Park has not materialised though plenty of outlets have reported the link. Now, West Ham are looking to hijack the Toon’s move for the impressive, and highly-talented Brazilian striker.

TBR’s view
Joelinton would be an excellent addition for most Premier League sides, given that he is scoring and creating goals at an excellent rate in the top tier of German football. At 22, he is only going to get better.
But for £52million, he is heavily overpriced. Roberto Firmino left the same side, Hoffenheim, for just £29million to join Liverpool in the summer of 2015. He was aged 23.
If either Newcastle or West Ham can convince Hoffenheim to reduce their asking price to less than £40million, then it will be a much fairer price
