Report: West Ham offered Michy Batshuayi by Chelsea in Declan Rice bid

West Ham United have been offered the chance to sign Michy Batshuayi as Chelsea look to land Declan Rice this summer, .

Batshuayi has endured a difficult time since moving to Stamford Bridge. The 26-year-old – who cost the Blues £33 million, – has scored one Premier League goal this season.

Nieuwsblad reports that Frank Lampard wants to offload Batshuayi this summer with the striker heading into the final year of his contract.

And it appears that Chelsea are hoping that they may be able to send him to the London Stadium.

that they are looking to offer Batshuayi to David Moyes’s men as they attempt to get Rice to move in the other direction.

However, the report adds that the chances of Batshuayi joining the Hammers are slim despite their previous interest.

TBR View: West Ham right to snub Chelsea’s attempt to land Rice

Batshuayi has only made a handful of Premier League starts since moving to Stamford Bridge four years ago.

So the Irons would surely be right to snub Chelsea’s bid. Bringing Batshuayi in as part of a deal that sees Rice move the other way would surely not go down well with the fans.

The supporters will want the best possible fee if Rice is to leave at any stage. And signing Batshuayi can, unfortunately, only be described as a gamble for any Premier League side.
