The Hammers were without four centre-back options against Manchester City on Sunday, with Angelo Ogbonna, Craig Dawson and new signing Nayef Aguerd all injured.

Issa Diop had also ruled himself out of playing amid speculation about his future, and a deal has reportedly been agreed for him to join Fulham.

West Ham had also been reportedly interested in a move for Wolves captain Conor Coady, but he’s on the verge of a move to Everton.

.

In that time, he’s gone on to make his Germany debut and earn 20 caps for his country, and has played right across the back line when called up by Hansi Flick, .

Kehrer made 27 league appearances for PSG last season, although saw his game time reduced towards the end of the season.

He was left out of Christophe Galtier’s first Ligue 1 squad of the season at the weekend, with Marquinhos, Presnel Kimpembe and Sergio Ramos his preferred defenders.

One of Kehrer’s main focuses going into this season will be maintaining his place in the Germany squad ahead of November’s World Cup.

If this game time in France is likely to be limited, a move to West Ham would make a lot of sense for both parties.

The defender has plenty of Champions League experience, and would likely be more than capable of stepping into a Premier League defence.

West Ham have also been chasing a left-back, with Angelino one option previously mentioned, and when all of the Hammers’ centre-back options are fit, Kehrer is more than capable of filling in on the left is needed.
