West Ham now considering hiring ‘special’ manager who is good friends with David Moyes
West Ham United are considering a move for Julen Lopetegui with Steve Cooper and Graham Potter also on the radar.
David Moyes is a man feeling the heat.
West Ham lost 2-0 at Nottingham Forest on Saturday afternoon, making it three Premier League defeats in a row.
The Hammers have now gone six league games without a win and haven’t secured a victory in 2024.
That run of results leaves Moyes fighting for his job and the timing couldn’t be worse for him; his contract expires this summer.
Many West Ham fans want Moyes out less than a year since winning the Europa Conference League and some interesting names are wanted inside the London Stadium.
West Ham United consider Julen Lopetegui
now report that West Ham have started drawing up a list of potential replacements for Moyes.
It’s suggested that three key names are on the radar for West Ham and one of them is Julen Lopetegui.
The Spaniard has been out of management since leaving Wolverhampton Wanderers in August, just before the start of the Premier League season.
Lopetegui has been linked with plenty of jobs but has been holding out for the right role, preferably in the Premier League.
West Ham can offer that return and Lopetegui’s history as a Europa League winner with Sevilla will make him very appealing.
Lopetegui also worked wonders to drag Wolves from the bottom of the table to Premier League survival, so it’s no surprise to hear that he is wanted.
, Lopetegui has actually in the past but could end up replacing the Scot in East London.

West Ham are also looking at Graham Potter, who left Chelsea in April of last year and hasn’t returned to management since.
Potter’s excellent work at Brighton and Hove Albion suggests that he could be the kind of manager many West Ham fans want.
The Chelsea move didn’t work out but chaotic circumstances may just leave clubs convinced that Potter can get back on track elsewhere.
The final name mentioned is Steve Cooper, who was axed as Nottingham Forest boss in December.
Cooper took Forest up in his first season in charge and then secured Premier League survival last season.
The Welshman earned praise for his work at the City Ground but results simply weren’t good enough this season and Forest have been a little more solid under replacement Nuno Espirito Santo.
We would put Lopetegui and Potter ahead of Cooper for the West Ham job, but the Hammers will soon need to decide whether to make a change now or wait until the summer and some managers may be reluctant to come in so close to the end of the campaign.
