Report: West Ham may target Bordeaux forward Josh Maja this month
West Ham could reportedly be interested in trying to sign Josh Maja from French club Bordeaux this month.
, the Hammers fully expect to sign a new forward before the January window closes.
He has explained that 22-year-old Maja could be a fresh target for them and it’s believed he’d be a much cheaper option than Sevilla’s Youssef En-Nesyri.
Crook adds that West Ham have had a £27million offer for En-Nesyri rejected and won’t go near his £35million price tag.
Maja is the latest attacker being linked with David Moyes’ side in January, as they look to replace Sebastien Haller following his sale to Ajax.
Maja has scored 11 goals in 48 games since he joined Bordeaux back in January 2019 from Sunderland.
The London-born striker, who represents Nigeria internationally, force a move to France away from League One Sunderland.

TBR’s View:
Maja scored 17 goals in 49 games at Sunderland, but the majority of those were in League One and he’s still a fairly inexperienced player.
The quick centre-forward would be an intriguing signing for West Ham if they land him on a cheap deal.
But it would be a big ask to expect him to arrive at the London Stadium and be automatic competition for frontman Michail Antonio.
