Report: West Ham join Leeds and Tottenham in race to sign Nahitan Nandez

West Ham United are now looking to raid Cagliari and sign Uruguay international Nahitan Nandez. The midfielder has been impressive at Copa America. But West Ham might find they have competition to sign Nandez – from Leeds and Tottenham.

Nandez, 25, has been regularly linked with a move to the Premier League. His two years in Cagliari has been crucial in the Italian club remaining in the top tier. Not only that, but his versatility at Copa America – playing at right-back – continues to impress. Premier League clubs are keen.

Cento Trentuno claim Tottenham and Leeds arekeen. Now, SM say West Ham are keen – but Cagliari have conditions. They want a permanent deal, or a loan deal with an obligation to buy.

Which move suits Nandez – West Ham, Leeds or Tottenham?

At Tottenham, the midfield depth is enormous. While there are players that are likely to leave the club – Moussa Sissoko, Harry Winks – Tottenham do need another midfield. Though, Oliver Skipp and Dele Alli were excellent on Sunday, alongside first-choice Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg.

So, a move to Leeds or West Ham would be more advisable. At Leeds, it looks as if he would start most games. Mateusz Klich alongside him, perhaps. At West Ham, he would also got plenty of game time but in the Premier League – he wouldn’t start above Declan Rice or Tomas Soucek.

A move to Leeds, then, would be his best move.
