Report: West Ham in talks to sell centre-forward Lucas Perez for £2million
West Ham attacker Lucas Perez is reportedly set to go through the exit doors the London Stadium this summer.
, the 30-year-old is close to leaving the Hammers and the club are in discussions with La Liga outfit Alaves.
It is understood that he could end up costing around £2million, which is half West Ham paid for him last summer.
The Spaniard struggled to make the desired impact in Manuel Pellegrini’s side this season, making just 19 appearances across all competitions.
He has scored a decent return of six goals for West Ham, but is low down the pecking order at centre-forward and is now set for a return to La Liga where he made a name for himself.
TBR’s View:
Perez has proven himself to be a decent back-up option during his first year at West Ham, but can’t force his way into the side on a regular basis and his exit is understandable.
The left-footed centre-forward can be a clinical around the penalty area and it would be no surprise to see him do well at Alaves.
It seems a remarkably low price to lose Perez for just £2million and it’s a potential bargain for the Spanish club.
