Report: West Ham in talks over £4m international, three assists in five league games this term

West Ham United are reportedly in talks over potentially bringing Vladimir Coufal to the London Stadium in a £4million deal, according to the .

Hammers boss David Moyes is apparently eager to bolster his ranks at right-back after Ryan Fredericks picked up an injury in the 4-0 win over Wolves at the weekend.

Coufal, a Czech Republic international who plays for Slavia Prague, is a former clubmate of Tomas Soucek, who moved to the London Stadium in January.

The 28-year-old was part of the Czech side that beat England 2-1 in the European Championship qualifiers last October, and has for his nation.

Coufal has been at Slavia since 2018 and has made for the Prague side, registering seven goals and nine assists.

This term, the 5ft 10in full-back has made five Fortuna Liga appearances, , and also featured in the Champions League qualifying first leg against FC Midtjylland.

West Ham were previously linked with Coufal in July (), but the player has since penned a new contract until 2023.

That said, if the Daily Mail report is to be believed, Slavia still seem willing to do business, and £4million would be a fairly cheap outlay for a Premier League club.

Coufal is impressive both in terms of attacking and defensive duties, and given how good Soucek has been, it’s not surprising to see West Ham seemingly looking to the Czech Republic – indeed, the same club – for new recruits.
