Report: West Ham favourites to sign Joe Worrall amid Everton interest

West Ham boss David Moyes is being urged to make a bid for Joe Worrall this summer should Nottingham Forest fail to secure promotion, that Everton also want the centre-back.

Worrall has been colossal at the City Ground once again this season. And there is still a very good chance that Forest could end their long wait for a return to the Premier League under Steve Cooper.

They are within touching distance of the play-off spots right now. And their form since Cooper’s appointment has been outrageously good.

However, should they fall short, it seems likely that they will face a battle to keep some of their most exciting players. Certainly, their hopes of keeping Djed Spence following his loan spell are getting slimmer with every outstanding performance.

Brennan Johnson is another who will surely attract bids no matter what division they are in.

And it seems that West Ham are poised to make a move for Worrall should Forest fail to go up. that the Hammers are favourites to sign the 25-year-old.

And Moyes’ top aides are urging to make a move if Forest remain in the Championship. He will apparently cost up to £15 million.

Interestingly, Everton are also apparently in the running. But Moyes looks to be in pole position ahead of his old side.

Joe Worrall could be an inspired buy for West Ham at £15 million

Worrall has come in for criticism at various stages during his Forest career. And of course, the club felt happy to loan him out to Rangers a few years ago. Steven Gerrard described him as a ‘‘ player.

His game has kicked on significantly since then. He is a brilliant defender and leader. At £15 million, he could prove to be an inspired signing for West Ham.

turned out to be a pretty good buy.
