Report: West Ham face competition from Borussia Dortmund for £20million-rated Jesse Lingard

West Ham have reportedly been joined by Borussia Dortmund in the hunt to try sign Manchester United’s Jesse Lingard this summer.

Lingard, 28, has enjoyed an amazing loan so far with West Ham since joining in January from Man United, and they want to re-sign him at the end of the season on a permanent basis.

, Hammers manager David Moyes is “keen” to bring him back to the London Stadium next year.

It is explained though that Dortmund, who are fourth in the German Bundesliga, are now eyeing a potential swoop for the Man United-owned attacker.

The report states that Man United could try use him in a deal to bring Jadon Sancho to Old Trafford.

Additionally, Man United value Lingard at £20million despite the fact his contract is reaching its last year, and he’s on £100,000-a-week in wages.

TBR’s View:

Dortmund’s interest in Lingard should be alarming for West Ham fans, who want to see him turn his loan deal with them into a permanent one.

England internationals Sancho and Jude Bellingham are already key first-team players for Dortmund, with the German division proving to be a great platform in recent years for English talents to shine.

Lingard is a versatile attacker that can play in wide or central areas and he’s rediscovered his best lately.

He’s scored nine goals and made four assists in just 13 West Ham appearances.
