Report: West Ham eyeing Nick Pope if Alphonse Areola does not stay
West Ham United are considering a move for Nick Pope as they weigh up whether they want to keep Alphonse Areola beyond his loan spell, .
Pope was a thorn in David Moyes’ side at the weekend. The goalkeeper made a number of brilliant saves as West Ham drew 1-1 with Burnley on Sunday.

The result hurt the Hammers’ chances of really closing the gap to the top-four in the Premier League. But perhaps it may have proved to have been the perfect audition for the England international.
that West Ham are considering whether to hold onto Areola next year. They have the option to make his deal permanent for £10 million. But he does earn £120,000-a-week, which would clearly be a lot for a player who has largely provided cover for Lukasz Fabianski.

And amongst the names they are also looking at is Pope. Of course, Burnley are facing a battle to try and stay in the Premier League.
Nick Pope could be a brilliant signing for West Ham this summer
Pope may have reservations about moving to the London Stadium unless he receives assurances. He will surely want the number one spot as soon as possible.
If Moyes cannot provide those assurances, it may be tough for the Irons to get a deal done. But there is no doubt that he could be an outstanding addition – particularly if the Clarets do get relegated.
He has been superb for a number of years at Turf Moor, forcing his way into the England fold. Jurgen Klopp once described him as ‘sensational’.
Fabianski, unfortunately, is not going to be able to continue forever. So having Pope waiting in the wings could be an incredibly smart move.
