David Moyes’s men have steadied the ship and remain in contention for the top four in the Premier League. And with that, supporters will be hoping that January proves to be busy.

has put forward a list of players on the Ironsradar this month. And amongst those named is El Ghazi.

The Dutchman has actually not completed 90 minutes for Villa in the top-flight since August. And he has barely featured at all since Steven Gerrard was appointed as Dean Smith’s successor.

Anwar El Ghazi a surprise target for West Ham, but all bets are off thanks to David Moyes

His record of 15 goals in 71 Premier League games is not bad for a winger. However, six of those goals were scored from the penalty spot. Meanwhile, he has only provided five assists since promotion.

It is not hard to imagine therefore, that Villa may be open to offers for the 26-year-old this month. He earns around at Villa Park. So moving his wages off the bill may be useful for Gerrard.

West Ham fans may have reservations should the Hammers confirm their reported interest with a bid. He has tended to be a divisive player, particularly since joining Villa permanently.

But Moyes has done brilliantly with players previously written off during his time at the London Stadium. So it would be dangerous to suggest that El Ghazi could not prove an inspired signing if he did make the surprise move.
